5 knit trends for the 2022/23 season

Knit trends tend to sometimes take a route of their own, but never really wander far from mainstream fashion, however most of the time they maintain a versatility that microtrends lack. The cause may be the price point, we tend to invest in knit pieces hoping it’ll last us a long time yet stay trendy.

Here are 5 examples for the 2022/23 season:

  • Vests: one of the best layering pieces of all time, plus everyone can find one that fits their style. So many possibilities, so many colours and the different knit textures and motifs just add something special to these garments. My favourites from Suel are the Braided snail and the Jungle vests. Style them over T-shirts, dresses, long sleeves or over a classic white shirt
  • Talking about braids, today a cosy knit is nothing without some vintage looking details. This includes funky twists and alternating textures, doesn’t matter if you style them with a pair of jeans or a maxi skirt and boots, it looks amazing. Of course this does include ponchos and cardigans too, a great example is the Suel Front braided poncho, but for maximum amount of texture try the Superbraided poncho, the name speaks for itself.
  • Lace in general and sheer textile are getting a comeback this year, probably staying for spring. If you thought knit lace is not a thing, I hate to break it to you, but you’ve been missing out. Hot summer day at the pool and need a cover up? Want to bring color and some visual interest to your everyday outfits? The answer is knit lace and if you still need proof, check out our lace sleeves and sweaters.
  • Pink as a colour took the world and made us all fall in love with it this year. To no one’s surprise it seeped into knit fashion as well, and as someone who has a love-hate relationship with pinks I’m glad there are a thousand shades of this colour so it still feels like you can customise this trend to your own liking. For example, in the summer a pastel pink such as Suel’s tulip is favoured as opposed to a darker pink which is more of a wintery colour.
  • Last but certainly not least, knit dresses and skirts were a huge hit among the guests of Copenhagen fashion week with vibrant colours and displaying unique knit techniques. Luckily, you only need to browse our page for a couple of seconds to see the wide variety of knit pieces we offer and start to immerse yourself in this trend. From basic pieces to colourful prints, you’ll find everything your heart desires.
